In 1990 David and Mary Astobiza opened the first European Comfort Shoe Store in Santa Rosa California featuring brands noted for their attributes in the promotion of foot health, a new concept at the time. It was from these humble beginnings that today’s Sole Desire has emerged as the leading independent premier women’s retail footwear company in Northern California.

Embraced by the community for their quality and service for over twenty years, sons David and Daniel have taken their parents dream and added their own energy, passion and drive while challenging themselves to move forward and striving to improve every facet of business without compromising the company’s core values. Keeping Sole Desire relevant in today’s changing marketplace both in assortment and in selection remains our top priority. We are dedicated to serving you, our customer.

Sole Desire has expanded the brand mix in our store and added a large selection of quality accessories including handbags, small leather goods, sunglasses, socks, shoe care as well as a large assortment of supportive and customizable insoles.

Sole Desire is more than a family business, with many current employees having been a part of the business since its early years. We boast an extremely high percentage of employee retention and enjoy several second generation employees.
